Soul Surfer (2011)

Armless fun.
I was very surprised by how much I liked "Soul Surfer". Most Christian produced films are victims of low budgets, bad acting, bad scripts, and Kirk Cameron. "Surfer", the story of shark attack victim,one-armed surfer, and all around real life badass Bethany Hamilton, didn't suffer from any of those things. Except Carrie Underwood, who turns out to be just as bad an actress, as she is a musician. It isn't an exceptional a film, but it was enjoyable, and AnnaSophia Robb proves to be a competent actress who, in the future, will probably one of the greats of her generation, as long as she continues to pick projects like this. This year has been an amazing breakout for many young actors and actresses, in my opinion, and Robb was among the head of this pack.
