Sherlock Holmes: a Game of Shadows (2011)

Watching the Detectives
Though humorous at times, the sequel to Guy Ritchie's "Sherlock Holmes" fails to live up to the fun, and spirit, of the original. There were still entertaining elements I was able to take away from it. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law were still as in sync in this film, and the addition of Jared Harris as Holmes' nemesis, Moriarty, was an inspired casting decision. Unfortunately the complicated ways that the writers devised for Holmes and Watson to get out of bad stuation after bad situation became increasingly tedious, and were too elaborate to make any sense. Not a bad film overall, just not great by any measure... except Jared Harris.
