I really enjoyed "Saving Mr. Banks" for the film it was. That happens to be a nice film about the struggle of control between Mary Poppins creator, P.L. Travers (played beautifully by Emma Thompson), and the Walt Disney studio, over the direction of the film adaptation. The performances were fun, especially those of Jason Schwartzman and B.J. Novak as the Sherman Brothers, and the intersecting story with Travers' childhood was entertaining and emotional. Despite the constant criticisms during production, however, I feel that the film completely dropped a far more interesting third act by glossing over Travers' absolute contempt for the finished product of "Mary Poppins". While this didn't do much to hamper how much I liked it, it did leave me wondering what could have been.

Nice review Paul. Though it may not all be true, it still is a tribute to Travers, as well artists from all over the world who stick to their word, their vision and what they have created.
